Digital economy

The digital economy is growing seven times faster than the regular economy.

Technological progress has already been apace in recent years, but the coronavirus pandemic has made the digital society shift up a few gears.

The digital revolution has dramatically changed the economic landscape over the last few decades. Consumer behaviour and the way businesses operate have undergone a true transformation. Together with sustainable thinking, digital innovation will play a starring role in tomorrow’s economy.

POM Limburg wants to be in a pioneering role in the further digitisation of the SME landscape in Limburg and Flanders. Digital economy connects everything to everything: machines to machines, machines to data, data to data, date to people, and people with each other.

As such, digitisation should not be considered a separate sector: it is the common thread that runs through the development of all economic sectors.
