POM Limburg and partners organize fifth edition for a sustainable future
Over 200 participants from the Benelux and surrounding regions gathered in Brussels at the end of November for the fifth edition of Energy Mission, an international conference organized by EnergyVille, Thor Park, Flux50, and POM Limburg. This year’s event highlighted cross-border infrastructures and value chains for a sustainable industry.
Energy Mission: A journey to accelerate the energy transition
The first edition of Energy Mission took place in 2020, marking the beginning of a cross-sectoral journey to boost the energy transition. Previous editions showcased solutions and financial opportunities for the built environment, industry, and electrification. Over 600 stakeholders, including representatives from governments, knowledge institutions, companies, and citizens, have since participated. The conference serves as a vital platform for changemakers to engage in dialogue and collaborate on sustainable energy systems.
Benelux focus
This year, POM Limburg and partners elevated Energy Mission to a new level by emphasizing a broad, cross-border approach. For the fifth edition, stakeholders from the Benelux and nearby regions convened in Brussels. Twenty experts addressed the importance of cross-border infrastructures and value chains that support sustainable industries, emphasizing that significant international investments are necessary for an effective energy transition. The new collaboration with the Benelux Business Roundtable and the Benelux Union reinforced this international focus.
Insights on accelerating the energy transition
Key insights emerged during the conference to help accelerate the energy transition. The industry is ready to invest, but crucial infrastructure decisions need to be made. Only a coordinated, cross-border approach can enable decarbonization and electrification. Innovation, collaboration, and open dialogue between industry, knowledge institutions, and governments are essential to building the energy infrastructure and economy of the future.
