Manufacturing economy

Over the last few decades, the manufacturing economy was the stronghold of the Limburg economy. And even today, industry has a stronger presence in Limburg than in the rest of Flanders.

Nevertheless, its importance in employment and turnover is waning. There is also a rather big difference in labour productivity between Limburg and Flanders: 18.1%

A solution in the making?

Digitisation, robotisation, and automation are part of the solution. POM Limburg wants to utilise projects such as the Einstein Telescope and COBOTASSIST to make the Limburg manufacturing economy future proof. In these projects, we build communities of companies, knowledge institutes, and other organisations. Together, we will work on the challenges the Limburg manufacturing economy faces.
