POM Limburg launches an innovation programme focused on smart and flexible production

POM Limburg is launching the “Growth Trajectory Smart Manufacturing” with the support of Sirris-Agoria, VLAIO, Flanders Make and Voka – KvK Limburg. Through this initiative, the partners offer business leaders in Limburg’s manufacturing industry a tailor-made innovation programme aimed at increasing their productivity through smart and flexible production. In doing so, POM Limburg and the project partners aim to strengthen the future of manufacturing companies in our region.

Limburg’s manufacturing industry is under pressure. Customers increasingly expect customised solutions, while labour market shortages and international competition are putting pressure on margins. At the same time, technologies such as robotics, AI and data-driven production offer significant opportunities to work more intelligently and efficiently. However, in practice, many companies encounter the same obstacles: a lack of time, expertise, resources or scale.

Growth Trajectory Smart Manufacturing
POM Limburg’s Smart Manufacturing growth trajectory guides Limburg-based production companies in setting up a process innovation. The focus is on Smart Manufacturing technologies that have a direct impact on efficiency, flexibility and productivity. Examples include intelligent machines, flexible product manipulation or virtual prototypes. Companies can rely on guidance from an experienced innovation consultant.

Challenges
The programme responds to the needs of the manufacturing industry and starts from recognisable challenges. Using concrete cases, proven methodologies and applicable tools, participating companies — under the guidance of an innovation consultant — translate smart production into their own business context, with the aim of achieving higher productivity and increased competitiveness.

The trajectory guides companies step by step from challenge to innovation idea and action plan, with room for knowledge sharing and exchange of ideas. Companies that already have a concrete idea can further refine and strengthen it within the programme.

Partnership
The growth trajectory is built on a broad and complementary partnership. POM Limburg implements the programme with the support of Sirris-Agoria, Flanders Make, VLAIO and Voka – KvK Limburg. Participating companies can therefore rely on substantive expertise and a strong network to translate innovations into feasible implementations in a focused and well-founded manner.
