POM Limburg launches search for design team for Business District

28.10.2026

First phase of 7,500 m² for growing life sciences companies

POM Limburg is launching a search for a design team for the Business District at Health Campus Limburg DC. The first phase will cover approximately 7,500 m² and provide space for scale-ups and larger companies in the life sciences sector. In the longer term, the Business District could expand to around 15,000 m², accommodating laboratories, cleanrooms and offices, among other facilities.

The thematic campuses focusing on construction and life sciences at Limburg DC are gradually taking shape. An open innovation centre is currently being developed at the Health Campus, scheduled for completion by the end of 2027, which will serve as the gateway to the site.

Business District
The Business District will support the further development of Health Campus Limburg DC and is aimed at companies in the life sciences sector requiring more than 500 m² of space. It will accommodate laboratories, cleanrooms, clinical research infrastructure and supporting offices, among other facilities. The development can be expanded in phases to a maximum of 15,000 m².

The starting point is a shell-and-core structure, allowing the buildings to be adapted to users’ needs in the future. The design team must take sustainability, technical feasibility and flexibility into account, while ensuring the project’s economic viability. POM Limburg is therefore looking for a design team with expertise in the development of laboratories and other specialised research infrastructure.

Design team
POM Limburg is launching a tender for the design of the new Business District. The team must include a designer and an engineer specialising in structural engineering and building services. The selection process will be divided into two phases. During the first phase, interested parties can submit their applications via the e-Procurement platform. Three suitable candidates will then be selected and invited to submit a tender.

An optional information session will take place at BioVille on Monday 9 November at 1.00 PM. Registration is mandatory via valerie.bauvois@pomlimburg.be, marijke.gorissen@pomlimburg.be or kristof.delwiche@pomlimburg.be.

Interested parties can find more information on the e-Procurement platform and submit their applications until Friday 4 December at 11.59 PM.
