Thor innovation campus becomes home to Einstein Telescope exhibition
POM Limburg inspires businesses and students
GENK – This autumn, FacThory at Thor Park will host a temporary exhibition dedicated to the Einstein Telescope. Organized by economic development agency POM Limburg, the interactive exhibition targets both entrepreneurs and students. Its goal is to raise awareness of the numerous opportunities and significant economic impact the Einstein Telescope can bring to Limburg.
The exhibition focuses on a wide range of sectors, including high-tech, construction, manufacturing, energy, and logistics. Supported by the provincial government, the initiative aims to inform entrepreneurs about their potential role in the project and to inspire students to pursue STEM education. “The Einstein Telescope offers unprecedented opportunities for innovation and collaboration,” says Tom Vandeput, Deputy for Economy and Chairman of POM Limburg. “In the exhibition, we emphasize the positive regional impact of such an ambitious scientific project, including new technologies, innovations, tenders, and contracts that will arise from it.”
Call to action
The exhibition also features a keynote space designed for events and presentations for medium-sized groups. “The expo is not only a source of inspiration but also a call to action for anyone who wants to be part of the Einstein Telescope journey,” says Vandeput. “We want to show companies and students that everyone can play a role in this revolutionary project. To bring the Einstein Telescope here, we need a wide variety of profiles—not only engineers and researchers but also skilled professionals.”
Collaboration
Visits to the exhibition are by request and for groups only. In addition to the exhibition, partners can use the venue for workshops and presentations related to the Einstein Telescope. This provides a unique opportunity for (inter)national collaboration between entrepreneurs, decision-makers, and academics from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. Interested parties can contact POM Limburg to reserve time slots and arrange group visits.
