Increase the productivity of your manufacturing company with smart and flexible production

The Limburg manufacturing industry is under pressure. Customers increasingly expect customised solutions, while labour market shortages and international competition are putting margins under strain. At the same time, technologies such as robotics, AI and data-driven production offer tremendous opportunities to work smarter and more efficiently. In practice, however, many companies encounter the same obstacles. A lack of time, expertise, resources or scale makes it difficult to truly take steps forward.

That is why POM Limburg is launching the Smart Manufacturing Growth Programme. This is an intensive and practice-oriented programme in which, under the guidance of an experienced innovation consultant, we work together with a selected group of Limburg-based manufacturing companies to set up and accelerate concrete innovation projects focused on smart and flexible production. In this way, we strengthen the future of manufacturing companies in our region.

What does the Smart Manufacturing Growth Programme involve?

In this growth programme, you work on process innovations within your company using Smart Manufacturing technologies that have a direct impact on efficiency, flexibility and productivity.

By Smart Manufacturing we mean:

  • intelligent machines and flexible product handling
  • robotics and mobile manipulators
  • data-driven production and AI applications
  • flexible assembly systems
  • virtual prototypes and process digitalisation
  • internal logistics automation (AGVs/AMRs)

The programme is tailored to the manufacturing industry and starts from recognisable challenges on the shop floor. Through concrete cases, proven methodologies and practical tools, you translate smart production step by step to your own company context, with the aim of achieving higher productivity and greater competitiveness for your company.

This gives you access to the right expertise and connections to not only explore innovations, but also effectively translate them into feasible next steps.

Who is this programme for?

The Growth Programme is aimed at Limburg-based manufacturing companies with a clear ambition to work with Smart Manufacturing technologies and that have, or wish to build, a strong innovation culture within their company.

The programme is primarily intended for decision-makers who want to make a difference at a strategic level. There are no restrictions regarding company size.

We bring together a maximum of 30 committed companies in one programme. Given the limited number of places, commitment to completing the full programme is essential. Together, we create a strong learning group in which knowledge sharing and mutual inspiration are central.

Because we also want the insights to benefit the sector more broadly, we expect participants to be willing to contribute as a practical case and, in consultation, share results or lessons learned.
